Trauma-informed Practice

A range of projects are in process designed to facilitate the introduction of trauma-informed approaches to service provision in the mental health and substance use fields, as well as the child and youth services. See the Featured Projects section.  In the Repairing the Holes in the Net study we used a virtual learning community approach to discuss and design actions in service systems, with practitioners, civil servants and community advocates based in the three northern territories, in order to improve the mental health of Northern women who have unstable housing or are homeless.  Trauma-informed approaches emerged as a key practice in this study.
